PBL创新课堂 | 联合教研新模式
编者按:
“PBL创新课堂”(PBL Innovative Class,即PIC)第一期联合教研活动由DLC深度学习中心与上海未来科技学校于2021年6月以线上形式共同完成。PBL创新课堂是以STEM内容为基础,根据参与学生的兴趣爱好而制定,最终中方教师实施的PBL创新型课程。担任本次教研活动的中方教师为未来学校金晨璐和刘洪涛老师,DLC深度学习中心导师Caroline负责课程的PBL设计融入与培训。
本次PBL创新课堂内容为“机器人机械与设计”(Robotics Engineering and Design, 即RED)共计时长为8周。Caroline主要负责培训中方教师的PBL技能,并与中方教师合作设计项目式学习的具体实施方案,以期提高学生的综合素养,包括合作、协调、演讲、领导力等软技能。除8周的PBL创新课堂以外,DLC还邀请了HTH学生与中方学生连线进行了国际少年论坛(International Forum for Leading Youth,即IFLY)。IFLY由双方学生与教师共同策划、学生执行、线上交流的形式,达到了解世界的目的。
本次创新课程的实施,为国内的学生提供了沉浸式项目式体验的机会,中方教师的PBL实践技能也同步提高。这种由中外PBL联合教研、中方教师授课的新型双师教研模式,解决了部分教师PBL技能短缺的现状,为学校PBL项目式学习科研能力奠定了坚实的基础。
下面是我们8周RED课堂计划,供创新教育同仁参考。
机器人机械与编程课程
PBL创新课堂之
(Robotics Engineering and Design,简称RED)
2021年春学期,PIC首期STEM课程,即机器人机械与编程课程(Robotics Engineering and Design,简称RED)落地上海未来科技学校。DLC深度学习中心将于2021年秋学期开始RED课程第二期招募。
课程对象:6 - 12年级
课时安排:RED课程分为12课时、18课时、24课时不同类别供选择
教师培训:DLC深度学习美方导师与中方教师联合教研,提供PBL实施方案
授课教师:中方教师(前期与DLC导师联合教研)
课程耗材:DLC深度学习中心统一配发
技术支持:DLC深度学习中心统一协助PBL课程实验室建设
Caroline: 来自HTH高中部,STEM资深教师,科学硕士学位,世界顶级名校Johns Hopkins University(约翰斯·霍普金斯大学)、Massachusetts Institute of Technology(麻省理工学院)毕业。
Caroline在HTH学校有教学经验丰富,教授物理、化学和其他科学学科的跨学科课程,具有HTH中小学教学经验,同时也是学校Lego Robotics Team(乐高机器人团队)的组建者,并活跃参与社区和特别教育科技项目。

Lesson Plans
#Week 1
Introduction to Electricity
Objective: To introduce students to the idea that electricity flow of electrons which we call current.
Materials:
- Blown up Balloons (at least 1 per group)
- Salt (about 1 TBSP per group)
- Piece of fur or fake fur (1 square per group, at least 5-6 inches on each side)
- Binder for handouts

Series and Parallel Circuit Art Day 1- Design
Objective: Students will test their designs from the simulation prework with copper tape and LED’s and use this to create an LED art piece based on their
Materials:
- Copper Tape
- LEDs
- Masking Tape
- Scissors
- Binder
- Writing Utensil
- 9 Volt Battery (per group)
- 4 AA Batteries (per group)
- AA Battery Variety Pack (per group)
- 9 Volt Battery Clip
- Resistors

Series and Parallel Circuit Art Day 1- Build
Objective:
Students will Construct their Copper Circuit Art Piece
Materials:
- Copper Tape
- LEDs
- Masking Tape
- Acrylic and/or Cardboard
- Vinyl (they can handcut this if there is no vinyl cutter)
- Scissors
- Notebook/Handout
- Writing Utensil
- 9 Volt Battery (per group)
- 4 AA Batteries (per group)
- AA Battery Variety Pack (per group)
- 9 Volt Battery Clip
- Resistors
#Week 4
Arduino Practice Project - LED Lamp
Objective: Students will learn the basics of wiring with a arduino board and breadboard and coding an arduino in order to create an LED Lamp.
Materials:
- Computer or Chromebook Arcylic
- Breadboard
- Arduino Uno or Arduino Nano
- Jumper Wires
- LEDs or LED Strip
- Arduino IDE
- Blockly Arduino/Tinkercad
- Resistors
- Pre-Made Base
- Battery (I think a 9V is appropriate here)
- Battery holder/clip
#Week 5
Build Your Base Robot
Objective: Students will Build and test their base robot
Materials:
- Computer or Chromebook
- Breadboard
- Arduino Uno
- Jumper Wires
- Arduino IDE
- Blockly Arduino/Tinkercad
- Resistors
- Battery (I think a 9V is appropriate here)
- Battery holder/clip
- 4 5V DC motors
- 4 Wheels
- Chassis
- Ultrasonic Sensor
- 2 Infrared Sensors

Converting Base Robot to a Drawing Robot - Pen Holder
Objective: Students will design, build, and test a prototype pen holder for their base robot.
Materials:
- Computer or Chromebook
- Marker (sharpie)
- Cardboard
- Hot Glue
- Painters Tape
- Other Potential Materials
#Week 7
Converting Base Robot to a Drawing Robot - Final Build
Objective: Students will attach their pen holders to their base robots, create a path plan for their drawing and then write and test the code to have their robot draw it.
Materials:
- Computer or Chromebook
- Breadboard
- Arduino Uno
- Jumper Wires
- Arduino IDE
- Blockly Arduino/Tinkercad
- Resistors
- Battery (I think a 9V is appropriate here)
- Battery holder/clip
- 4 5V DC Motors
- 4 Wheels
- Chassis
- Ultrasonic Sensor
- 2 Infrared Sensors

- Finished Pen Holder
#Week 8
Final Robot Build and Test + Exhibition Preparation
Objective: Students will complete their robots and work on creating documents and presentations for exhibition. They can also practice any speaking they need to do.
Materials:
- Computer or Chromebook
- Breadboard

- Arduino IDE
- Blockly Arduino/Tinkercad
- Resistors
- Battery (I think a 9V is appropriate here)
