Post-Doctoral Position in Child and Adolescent Neurobehavioral Development
Dr. Yang Houat the Family Sciences Department of the University of Kentucky is searching for a post-doctoral scholar. The postdoc will primarily work on a project investigating cognitive, academic, behavioral, and socioemotional development of children (ages 2-18) with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), funded by the Department of Defense. Primary responsibilities included data management and analysis and preparing manuscripts. The postdoc will also have opportunities for participation in and authorship on publications from other data available to Dr. Hou, for example, a 3-wave longitudinal study on Mexican American youth development (PI: Dr. Su Yeong Kim, see a sample publication: https://psycnet.apa.org/record/2020-40855-001), a longitudinal mixed-method project on adolescent and family wellbeing during COVID-19 pandemic (PI: Dr. Aprile Benner), and longitudinal data on Chinese adolescents’ socioemotional development (see a sample publication: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10964-019-01093-0). The postdoc can also participate in grant writing.

Required Qualifications
●      A doctoral degree in developmental, clinical, quantitative psychology, or other relevant social science fields;
●      Expertise with advanced multivariate statistical analysis such as time-varying effect modeling (TVEM), latent profile analysis (LPA), structural equation modeling (SEM), and/or multilevel modeling (MLM);
●Proficiency with R, SAS, SPSS, and/or Mplus.

Preferred Qualifications
●Experience in integrative data analysis (IDA);
●Experiences or familiarity with neuropsychological tests (e.g., IQ tests, academic achievement tests, Behavior Assessment System for Children, Conner’s Rating Scales);
●Expertise in child and adolescent development, particularly in cognitive, academic, behavioral, and socioemotional domains;
●Strong academic writing skills and communication skills.

Start Date
September 2021 but can be flexible.

The university is in Lexington, Kentucky, but remote work is possible.
