Hiring | Advertising Sales and Membership Development Manager
Organization: Greater Boston Convention & Visitor's Bureau
This is an exciting dual role supporting and advancing the needs of our membership. The individual will work under the leadership of the Executive Vice President and the Director of Membership to support member retention, identify new prospects and develop strategic digital, print and web based advertising sales opportunities for the membership. The individual must have the ability to create strong business rapport, understand the unique needs of our diverse membership and create and promote advertising sales opportunities that serve their varied needs and budgets.
1. Advertising Sales and Membership Development Manager
Key Responsibilities - Advertising Sales
• Sell display advertising in official GBCVB print publications including visitors guide and meeting planner directory.
• Sell digital advertising for BostonUSA.com website and the Boston Common Visitor’s Center displays.
• Manage and coordinate submissions and approvals for ad materials.
• Maintain advertising database and contracts.
• Achieve targeted sales goals.
• Ensure ad submission deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities - Membership Development
• Manage the input and maintenance of all member records in CRM; run reports as needed.
• Assist with planning and execution of monthly Open House networking events, member presentations.
• Assist with identifying new member prospects.
• Consult with members to ensure utilization of full benefits.
• Update Member Extranet site with timely information and updates.
• Respond to member inquiries.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of successful advertising sales experience, preferably in the hospitality or tourism industry.
• A thorough understanding of market / advertising pricing.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with a CRM database preferred.
• Experience with Photoshop, HTML / web content management programs desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to develop sales budgets and forecasts.
• Ability to provide uncompromised customer service.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be willing to travel throughout the region 20% of the time.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• Relocation is not provided.
This is a temporarily hybrid (in office at employee discretion and at home) position during COVID. GBCVB is committed to flexible work arrangements (flexible work hours and some work from home) once we resume to an in person work environment. The compensation of this position is a base of $50,000 - $60,000 plus earned commission.
