今年四月底，美国国务院解除了针对留学生（F/M签证）的赴美禁令，自8月1日起，持有F/M签证的学生可直接从中国飞往美国！于是，有不少留学生预订了返回校园的机票。
那么下一步，大家最关注的问题莫过于新冠疫情。
留学生何时打疫苗？打哪种？在中国打还是返回校园再打？这类灵魂三问在各大学生家长群里不断出现，从而展开讨论，但因疫情的不断变化，美国大学至今并没有给出明确态度，比如是否强制要求学生打某种疫苗，让国际生在接种疫苗方面有更大的自由度，所以，我们尽可以根据自身状况来决定。
5月7日，又一个里程碑事件是：世卫组织批准中国国药（北生所）新冠疫苗列入“紧急使用清单”。
这样，留学生可选择疫苗增加至六款，分别为BioNTech/辉瑞疫苗、AZ疫苗（包括韩国生产和印度生产的两款）、强生疫苗、莫德纳疫苗、国药北生所疫苗。
不久后，世卫组织也会决定是否给予中国科兴新冠疫苗紧急使用许可。这使得身在国内的留学生将有更多选择。
现在已经有多所美国大学宣布2021年秋季将重开校园，恢复面授课。为了能让更多学生秋季安全回归，所有大学都会制定COVID-19疫苗接种要求，包括留学生在内。与此同时，多所美国大学表示，承认世卫组织批准的中国新冠疫苗。明确中国留学生到美国之后，不用再重复接种美国本土疫苗。
根据美国universitybusiness网站列出的名单显示，截止美国东部时间5月10日下午5时，要求2021-22学年秋季接种疫苗的美国高校完整名单如下：
