作曲家德彪西说过,是音符间的间隙造就了音乐(Music is the space between the notes)。如同「条纹动画」,需要遮住一部分,才能看到内容。某种程度上,生物的记忆也是如此。如果我们的大脑接收并保存所有的信息,就会导致信息被淹没在「背景」中,要耗费巨大的能量和物质去检索。「遗忘」就好似条纹动画中的「遮挡」,过滤掉多余的信息,让有限的注意力集中在重要的事情上。而我们熟悉又陌生的多巴胺和其他神经递质则在其中起到了调配作用。
