英国数据显示又有1041人死于冠状病毒，这是自4月以来的最高每日死亡人数。
与此同时，共有62322例新病例被记录在案，这是自大规模检测开始以来的最高单日增幅，同时下院议员支持英格兰的封锁。
卫生部长马特·汉考克早些时候表示，如果没有新的限制措施，医生可能会被迫定量治疗。
他说，英国医院有30,074名新冠肺炎患者，面临着巨大的压力。
目前的病人人数比去年4月12日的高峰高出39%，当时有21684人住院。
在过去一周，阳性检测后28天内死亡的人数比前7天高出37%。
传染病学教授安德鲁·海沃德(Andrew Hayward)表示，未来几周死亡人数可能还会继续增加。
