We Stand with the American People!
A Response to “Standing with the  Black Americans”——A Letter from a Yale Student to the Chinese American Community
Preface:
There is an article I read called “We Stand With the  Black Americans”, An Open Letter from a Yale Student to the Chinese Community. The author is a Chinese American student.
Reading this made my heart sink. This is a typical article written by someone who has been brainwashed by the leftist education, an article that turns black into white.
It also represents the greatest worry of many Chinese parents
-- that their children will be educated into leftists who cannot distinguish right from wrong.
So I write this inresponse…
Child, my heart aches.
As a first generation Chinese immigrant to the United States, as the father of two children, my heart aches for you.
Child, education and knowledge have not made you understand what is right, and what is wrong; your arrogance and conceit have made you believe that you must be the one in the right.
You arrogantly accuse the entire Asian community, accuse your father and mother, saying " Asian Americans have long perpetuated Anti-Black statements and stereotypes".
As if the entire Asian community is in the wrong, and you, only, are holier than all. You think you can judge like God.

Child,You are arrogant and conceited.
Your education and your knowledge haven’t taught you real humility, and neither has it taught you to distinguish between good and evil.
Indeed,
pure knowledge does not give you the ability to distinguish good and evil. Only common sense and conscience do.
Child, life has never been heaven, and it never will be.
I just want to tell you what the world is like in the most plain and simple words (simple is best):
Reality is reality. It will not change with your imagination or fantasies.
Child, your father and mother love you. Because of this, they have protected you too well, shielding you from the lessons of hardships; this may be the root of your arrogance today.
Confucius once taught us:
“防祸于先而不致于后伤情。知而慎行,君子不立于危墙之下,焉可等闲视之。”
Better safe than sorry.
Anysensible person will not stand under a wall that’s at risk of falling. By learning about possible disasters in advance, you can save yourself from both physical and mental harm.
Similarly, if you find yourself in a possibly dangerous situation, you must leave without delay.
Maybe you don’t understand this yet, but wisdom and knowledge of good and evil is the same in all human races .
If you do understand this, maybe you will be able to understand why your parents often warn you about the problems existing in the African Americans community.
It is NOT"the rampant anti-Blackness ", it is "tell you the true".
Yes, it is true that"many of us live in affluent neighborhoods, send our children to selective universities, and work comfortable, professional jobs."
But Child
have you ever wondered where this reality came from?
We are never born RICH, at least not in the absurd way you think.
We are all first generation immigrants, having experienced different (political) systems and countries.
We've been through extreme poverty and tough times. That was the reality we as a generation had to face, learn our life lessons from, survive lots of sufferings that luckily you didn't have to go through.
Or maybe it is unfortunate that you did not go through this harsh reality and your view toward our society is distorted?
Child, you are able to have today's education, first not due to your own efforts, but due to your parents’, who created a good learning environment for you.
Just as it saying goes:
"your worry-free and peaceful days are only possible because someone else has and is carrying the burden forward for you!"
Your parents may not have gotten a better education, but have you ever considered that they came to America bearing the burdens of life that far outweigh the burdens of African Americans whom you have over-showered your  love upon?
They needed to overcome not only the language barriers, but also cultural shocks; they needed to overcome indifficulties of effective  communication, as well as the unfamiliarity in foreign countries. There is no extra racial preferential treatment for them, and they wouldn’t  be used to blurt out the word "Racism" either.
Child, have you ever wondered for your parents how they came out of this heavy situation step by step?
Have they wailed and blamed others? Did they blame others for their own inadequacies?
They worked silently, and they quietly bought a house in a good school district for you---their nextgeneration,
and they created a good learning environment for you---their next generation.
Child
before you blurt out "Rich community","Top college", "Comfortable professional job"
Recall your conscience, honor your parents, and take a moment to reflect..
did all these just drop from the sky?
Weren’t these only possible because your parents 筚路蓝缕endured great hardship and eventually earned from them?
(筚路蓝缕, bì lù lán lǚ )
(Driving a shabby chariot and wearing ragged clothes to open a forest road, the hardships of beginning an undertaking,be a trail blazer or pioneer in opening up virgin lands; the pioneering spirit.)
Child, in your open letter, I don't see you showing any gratitude to your parents. You didn't even show any gratitude towards America as a country.
You are showing off your favoritism for African Americans, as a show of "Political Correctness" and progressivism.
You blame the Asian community and your parents for "stealing" the fruits of African American politics.
But no, child, your accusations are mad and prejudiced.
Under the founding spirit of the United States, a republic, only a man of virtue can be truly "free." And the United States offers just such a possibility:
the American Dream.
Child, every Chinese American is grateful for the contributions of the African American leaders in the Civil Rights movement and for them being the contributing "free men" in this lively System of the United States.
Likewisem every Chinese American is also working hard to be the next contributing "free men" in this lively system of the United States,as they once did.
Every "free men",no matter Chinese American or African American, made contributions to the American system--Even during the Chinese Exclusion Act, it was Wong Kim Ark's action to sue the Federal government, which enabled later generationsto enjoy the right to be born an American citizen. (Wong Kim Ark v. United States ,1898)
The repeal of the Chinese Exclusion Act was also an effort made by Chinese Americans over the years.
Your assumption that "we owe everything we have today to them" reveals not only your ignorance of history, but also your racism--an even worse form of racism,a self-denying racism.
Unfortunately, after the tragic death of Dr. Martin Luther King in 1968, the African American Civil Rights movement quickly went astray, and yes, even with the efforts of leaders like the Reverend Jesse Jackson, there is no denying that the degradation of the African American community since the Civil Rights movement has been visible.
Child, I don't know if you know it or not,but the Reverend Jesse Jackson most frequently urgedAfrican American teenagers to study hard, to work hard, to believe in themselves, and to have good virtues.
But have the AfricanAmericans met these admonishments?
Don't forget proverbs12:24 in the Bible, "Diligent hands will rule. But laziness ends in forcedlabor.."
Child, you have not been taught to think independently. You cannot even discern cause from effect.
The success of the Chinese Americans came from the self-governing democratic system in the United States.
Historically, we have been unfairly treated, but now, we have put all of them behind;
we salute to those hard-working pioneers, we march toward a brighter tomorrow of the United States;
we answer past injustice by working hard, by building and improving today's society;
Under America's self-governing democratic system, we choose forgiveness and gratitude.
We do not demand others' indebtedness to us, nor do we need to be over-burdened by guilt.
Do not blame the past as excuses for one's present plight.  Had this standard been used, should we Chinese Americans also be able to demand those inexplicable "compensation" according to the History of the Chinese Exclusion Act?
This is historical nothingness, historical derangement, historical confusion.
The freedom of the American system derives from the solid foundation laid by its founding fathers, and generations of "free men" have worked hard to build upon it.
Each "free men"is someone we have to be grateful for, not just one particular group of people.
What makes America a better place for every "free men" is precisely their upward striving, their self-striving
-- just as Chinese American parents demand of their children.
Every "free men" is not a "marginalized people" in America, not a "marginalized group" in America. You have insulted America's history, as well as America's "free men".
America's "free men"aren't named by their races
You are a downrightracist, dividing America by White, black, Chinese..., which is very typical inidentity politics. You are a victim of leftist education in American schools.
You are arrogant and presumptuous enough to accuse the Asian community of "racism" without realizing that you are applying exactly the same racial distinctions.
The definition of racism is to use something that cannot be changed by one's efforts as the fundamental basis of identity.
You can change your thoughts, your language, but you can't change your race, and identity politicsis all about dividing and lining up by your race.
Reading between your lines, you seem to think that all races would stand up only just their own raxe..but it is NOT ture..
"The accumulation of 400 years of history erupts in five minutes of wailing”,
That's what Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis effectively said to reporters, but why, sadly, have African-americans been stuck in such a "wailing" for over 400 years?
If a group of people can't get out once, maybe there is oppression;
if they can't get out twice, maybe it’s a matter of luck,
but if they can't get out again and again, it has to reflect on itself and find out why it can't get out.
"He does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers, but his delights are in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. (Psalm 1:1,2)
Child,compassion is good,
but, your compassion towards African Americans does not seem to be out of goodness.By seeking one example after another, you believe "they were mercilessly shot in their own neighborhoods", you believe "they were murdered in broad daylight", you believe "their children were slaughtered for carrying toy guns or stealing gum", and then, your compassion explodes, you feel so much injustice, you think you are God..
No, Child
You are not God, those tragedies you mentioned should be dealt with by the law, not by your own temporary passion, people will never be God, so there is the existence of the legal society.
For the naive left, only the more personal description can cover up their shallow understanding of reality and serious lack of thinking depth.
Child, as a Chinese American parent, my heart bleeds for you.  I'm sure your parents feel sorry for you too, but you don't care.
The arrogance between the lines has blinded your conscience and blinded your eyes.
Our"silence" is because we believe in the law, we believe in reason, we believe that in America, evil does not go unpunished, goodness does not lose its applause, and justice will always arrive sooner or later.
Weakness is not naturally just, and hatred will not bring justice.
Child, in the real society, African Americans are not even"disadvantaged".
Do you not see the rampant reverse discrimination that results in preferential treatment of African Americans?
Do you not see the unreasonable suppression of Asian American?
The destruction, looting and arson of innocent people's properties, in the name of protests, you still do not see!
You are too immersed in the illusion of "Political Correctness", you are too immersed in the personal pleasure of it, what is reality, what is justice, you don't care, you only care about your own self-feelings!
The reverse discrimination under si-called"Political Correctness", which violates the objective laws of the society,is fundamentally flawed that it cannot truly lead the disadvantaged groups to get real equality with inequality.
If you really feel sympathetic love towards African Americans, I would like to suggest that, when an African American complains that they don't live in the "white-community", you should go to help them reflect on that, why do those lower than their status, more difficult to get a job, worse in language skills, how they moved into the "white community"?
Child, If you want the Chinese American community over-sympathizing with African American, if you want the Chinese American community to be as blind as you are to the beating, looting and burning.
I highly recommend that you take out your own money first and give them to support African Americans, and I will applaud you.
I suggest that you donate all your personal properties to the organizations that sponsor beating, smashing, robbing and burning (people's properties), so as to achieve your personal pleasure, but please do not use this arrogant attitude to blame and demonize and moral kidnapping of the Chinese community.
As amatter of fact, we saw the rioters burning with such enthusiasm that if they ever wanted us to help them, they first need to learn how to obey the law, to be "free men" of good morals.
We are ready to help any "free men" who tries.
Black lives matter?
No, all lives matter!
America is a nation founded by puritans, and African Americans could not have started the Civil Rights movement without the help of many other groups.
To regardthe total efforts of the American people the "free men" as the"contribution" of a single group, or even to make up the absurd assumption that there would be no Chinese Americans without African Americans
--Child, it only exposed your ignorance of history and furthermore the racial discrimination in your heart!
(By the way, Malcolm X,  who always advocated violence as a solution to problems, was severely criticized by Dr. MartinLuther King, Jr.
His famous saying is: "Today we throw stones, tomorrow will become Molotov cocktails, the day after tomorrow will be grenades... Even with the votes, it turns into bullets ")
Child,  America is for all Americans, and if you don't think of yourself as an American, you'll never feel like America belongs to you.
The United States is not perfect, it needs generation after generation to build it,to perfect it.  Fantasies using "top-level design" to solve the social ills once for all is completely impossible!
It is a kind of leftist's crazy dream, a Babel tower that can never be realized.
Child, What ever you believe, call it nature, or Creator, or God, under which all men are equally blessed and equally responsible.
No one has any privilege, let alone a "privileged minority,"
Child, don't fight the windmills.
Child, we chose to stand with the American people rather than separating African Americans from the rest of the world.
Child, we chose to stand with the American people instead of dressing up as self-denyingsaints.
Child, we chose to stand with the American people because we believe in construction, webelieve in the rule of law.
As a Chinese parent, I strongly advise parents to be aware of their children's self-depredation of racist ideas, especially at a time when the American school system is permeated by the extreme leftist ideologies. We should firmly opposethe specious racism and identity politics.
I urge you all:
1. Do not donate to any organization or individual that advocates Black Lives Matter (BLM)
2. Don't be fooled or used to protest "white supremacy".
of course, White supremacy is wrong, but is the issue really "white supremacy"? Think about it
3. Oppose all forms of illegal activities and violence
4. Help People of African American to face up to their problems
5. Work for and help the Chinese American community
6. Tell people the real history, not the maliciously interpreted history
7. Helpyour friends of all ethnic backgrounds by opposing race and identity politics
8. Fight back against the hate-peddling leftists on social media!
Darknesscannot drive out of Darkness:
Only light can do that.
Hatecannot drive out Hate:
Only love can do that.
-- MartinLuther King, Jr.
