Human beings are not the masters of this planet. They need to live in harmony with nature and animals instead of invading and killing them. I hope that the wish for a better home will not be merely a dream. In this series of works, I do not emphasize the gender of the characters, but rather treat human beings as an individual equal to all living beings in this world.

艺术作为人类至高的精神追求,却在人类生存受到挑战的时候显得如此苍白。并且因为在家隔离无法去工作室开始利用 iPad 进行创作。这个作品描述着一场艺术与科学的狂欢。存在于二维作品中繁复无序的细节,映射了适用于物理真实世界中一切系统的热力学第二定律,在一定的规则下无序而混乱,并始终向着更加混乱的方向发展。由此而带来视觉上的压倒与精神上的焦虑,然而我们就是在这种永久存在的混乱中寻找并创造美好与光明。
As the highest spiritual pursuit of human beings, art is so pale when human existence is challenged. And because in Home quarantine can't go to the studio to start creating with iPad. This work describes a carnival of art and science. 在平时发生的事情,对我们的生活和环境发生着影响,促使我对当下状态的关注。来自于社会、来自于城市,一直以来,在我的作品里潜移默化的融入了这些元素,也成为了我做艺术创作过程中的线索和脉络,在我的作品中表达我对所发生在当下的事物的态度、观点、看法和感受,从社会浮华现象的物欲横流,到人际间的麻木冷漠,到环境恶化的自然灾难,再到如今的新冠病毒,这些个带来的总是内心的惶恐、恐惧、焦虑与不安,所以总也停止不了对发生在当下事物的感悟与思考,以此在作品里,来表达我的内心世界。
艺术做的事情是提出问题,人类的脆弱,需要有一个强大的内心来支撑身体,自我的强大来自于内心的强大,那就让‘’我的艺术‘’来解决内心的事情好了。
Every day the transpiring of events affect every aspect of our lives forcing us to pay attention to the changes within the city and our society. Through my art work, I express my attitude, viewpoints, and feelings about what is currently happening. I focus in on the materialistic flow of the social flashy phenomena, the numbness of human beings, the occurring natural disasters of environmental degradation, and the renowned 2019-nCoV. Viruses always bring an inward panic, fear, and anxiety, so I can’t stop feeling and thinking about what is happening now. However, what I can do is express my inner world through my art work.
What art does is to help us to ask questions. The fragility of human beings needs a strong heart to support it. The strength of the self comes from the strength of the heart. Then let ‘my art’ solve the questions of the heart.

设计者由古代女子足不出户的情境联想到人们的隔离现状,从这些古代女子的神情中可窥视其对外界的渴望,故采取以古喻今的图像处理方式。海报中方框象征门窗,以框架结构过渡内外空间,底面弥漫新冠状病毒与樱花元素,隐喻外界充斥着危险却又樱花纷呈。
The designer associates the situation of people's isolation with the situation of ancient women staying inside the house. From the expressions of these ancient women, they can peep at their desire for the outside world. The boxes in the poster symbolize the doors and windows, and the internal and external spaces are transformed by a frame structure.  The virus and cherry blossom elements are metaphors with viruses being full of danger.

Yao Kang Kang is studying his Masters of Fine Arts at Huzhou Teachers College. Although the major I studied is Environmental Design, I don't think that I should stick to the limitations of my major and instead I should try more interdisciplinary fields of creativity to develop my own creative practice.

真相与谎言,治愈与死亡,残酷与温情,传播与隔离之中究竟什么是我们的解药?
This art work uses "pill" as the background, hiding the unknown sound inside the installation creating a "scenario" and "process" scene trying to induce a unique experience for the audience.
What is our antidote among truth and lies, healing and death, cruelty and tenderness, transmission and isolation?

也不是有意去关注她,但是疫情期间女医生剃光头,孕怀九个月战“疫”,卫生巾并不够用,这种字眼一直出现在新闻条目里,促使我去思考。作品用这组自我和朋友的图像结构重组了一个“她“的异世界。
什么时候她开始认为自己必须有一种标准然后用某秀秀编辑自我的图像?
什么时候她开始认为自己要为来月经羞耻?
什么时候她开始认为自己必须要 “瘦“?
什么时候她可以正视自己的身体,需求,欲望?
I didn't mean to pay attention to her, but the female doctor shaved her head during the epidemic, and sanitary napkins were not enough. These words kept appearing in the news prompting me to think. The work uses this group of self and friends' image structure to reorganize a "her" alien world.
When did she begin to think that she must have a standard and then edit her image with Xiu Xiu?
When did she start thinking that she was going to be ashamed of menstruation?
When did she start thinking she had to be "thin"?
When can she face her body, needs, desires?

这本关于疫情的手工书刚刚画完,每天又在不断发生新的事情。我没有给它设置序页或者是小的主题,文字稀疏。它呈现的方式是破碎,零散,拼拼凑凑,可是于我而言,每一笔都是这段时间里的触目惊心。我找了房间里很多没被扔弃的垃圾,几管挤不出来的颜料,一只有裂痕的换水杯,这些图形也是由它们组成。画到后来快要没有力气画完,笔也是束缚,每一幕都历历在目。
This manual book on the epidemic was drawn with new things happening every day. I didn't set a page sequence or a small theme for it so its presentation is fragmented. I found a lot of undiscarded garbage in the room like a few paints that couldn't be squeezed out, and a water-changing cup with cracks. These figures consisted of them. After painting, I had no strength to finish, the pen was bound with vivid scenes.

疫情的爆发,被迫延长的假期,让我原本快节奏的生活突然放慢了下来。也许很多人像我一样,在繁忙的工作中早已忽略了自己的生活,习惯了两点一线的日程,依赖便利的公共交通与外送。而这次突如其来的机会给了我时间认真审视自己的生活,让我能够慢慢品尝一瓶饮料的味道,花时间给自己准备一顿晚餐,坐在窗前阅读、听音乐。原来这些曾经忽略的事情是这样美好而简单。
The outbreak of the epidemic and the extended holidays have suddenly slowed down my originally fast-paced life. Perhaps many people, like me, have long neglected their lives in the past because of their hectic work schedule, as well the convince and our reliance on public transportation and delivery has also changed our lives with this epidemic. This sudden opportunity gave me time to take a closer look at my life, allowing me to slowly enjoy the taste of a bottle of drink, to spend time preparing myself a dinner, to sit and gaze out the window, to read and listen to music. It turns out that these things that were once ignored are so beautiful and simple.

The Earth through its 4.5 billion years has witnessed the rise and fall of species.2019-nCoV, melting Antarctic glaciers, and disasters are all factors of nature. Look at what nature wrote, maybe the breeze was blowing over the treetops, maybe the seeds were rising with the wind, and nature just wanted peace.

有效控制住疫情的最佳手段就是切断传染源即:“隔离”。该海报设计将冠状病毒封存在75%的酒精中。75%的酒精可以有效杀死冠状病毒,以该形式来传达隔离的重要性。

壁炉前系列作品,流露出比讽刺更多的悲伤之情,传达出一种彻底绝望的悲伤。针砭整个时代、所有过度亢奋的行为、一切肤浅的表面游戏、一切固执武断的想法。“看看我们这些大猴子!看吧,这就是人!”所有的名誉、所有的智慧、所有的精神成就、所有通向崇高定点的过程、所有伟大的不朽的东西都分崩离析,成了猴子滑稽的把戏。
The series of work displayed in front of the fireplace shows more sadness than satire, and conveys a form of complete despair. Echidna throughout the era, all hyper-excited behavior, all superficial games, all stubborn and arbitrary ideas.  "Look at us big monkeys! Look, these are people!" All reputations, all wisdom, all spiritual achievements, all processes leading to lofty fixed points, all great immortal things have fallen apart and become the monkey’s funny trick.

武汉封城之前我离开了这里。在拉萨呆了一个星期,因为疫情越来越严重,拉萨下令所有酒店客栈必须停止营业。于是,我只能辗转昆明、长沙,历时近24个小时回到封锁之中的武汉。
回到武汉之后,每天被大量的负面信息包围,于是变得不愿意再留意互联网上的信息。2月6日晚,李文亮医生逝世的消息让我陷入了更大的悲伤。人类是健忘的,也许疫情平复之后过不了多久,这次疫情中发生的许多事就会慢慢没有了痕迹。于是,我用日历的方法,把这段日子里每天在社交媒体反应最激烈的事情记录了下来。死亡不是生命的终结,遗忘才是。
I left Wuhan before it was closed. After spending a week in Lhasa, Lhasa ordered all hotels and inns to close because of the spread of the epidemic. As a result, I could only travel to Kunming and Changsha and return to Wuhan under blockade for nearly 24 hours. 
After returning to Wuhan, I was surrounded by a lot of negative information every day, so I became unwilling to pay attention to the information on the Internet. On the evening of February 6, the news of the death of Dr. Li Wenliang plunged me into even greater sadness. Human beings are forgetful. Perhaps not long after the epidemic has calmed down, many things that happened in the epidemic will slowly disappear. Therefore, I used the calendar method to record the most violent reactions on social media every day during these days. Death is not the end of life, forgetting is.

重症病房里的白衣天使、送外卖的小哥、装满物资的车辆,用剪纸讲述一个个抗击疫情的故事,向战斗在抗疫一线的医务工作者、劳动者和支援湖北、武汉的社会各界表达崇敬之情。
Angels in white are in the intensive care unit, they are delivery personnel with vehicles full of supplies. Paper-cut is used to tell stories of those fighting the epidemic one by one and to express reverence to the medical workers, laborers and all sectors of society supporting Hubei and Wuhan who are fighting this epidemic.

Light is only the color of blood. All lives are displaced, clamoring and marching in the darkness. Sighs and howls, plaintive wails suddenly surged up and poured down the mountain … suddenly and silently. The wings of the big bird may send the hijacked spring breeze back to the earth. Zhao Lixian was born in Wudi, Shandong in 1972. He graduated from Hubei Academy of Fine Arts with a master's degree in oil painting in 1997. In the same year, he joined Jianghan University's School of Art and is currently an associate professor in the Department of Fine Arts of Jianghan University's School of Art. Director of Wuhan Artists Association.

很多时候,我一直在思考人与自然的关系,这次新冠病毒蔓延,也传递了人类与自然法则的严重破坏,爱护生灵是我们每个人的责任。世界虽然复杂,正义永远不会迟到,世间万物道义有道,这幅作品的创作就是基于传统文化的辟邪道法,葫芦与桃木剑是道教圣物,都具有吉庆辟邪、纳福增祥的象征意义,也是表达了举国上下齐心协力共战疫情的坚定信心。
Most of the time, I have been thinking about the relationship between man and nature. The spread of the new virus has also transmitted the serious destruction of the laws of man and nature. It is the responsibility of each of us to take care of the living. Although the world is complex, justice will never be late, and all things in the world are morally right. The creation of this work is based on the traditional culture's Tao to ward off evil spirits. Gourd and peach wooden swords are holy Taoist relics. Both have Chinese culture that celebrates good fortune to ward off evil spirits and receives blessings to increase prosperity. It also expresses the firm confidence of the whole country in working together to fight against the epidemic.

这个系列的每幅画都记录了自己内心世界的某一刻,我看不到作品以后会带来的希望或绝望,但我很享受作画时那过程中带来的感动、沮丧、无法解读的心绪起伏,就像当下的生活中充满着的让我享受的迷茫。

Each painting in this series records a moment in my inner world. I can't see the hope or despair that the work will bring, but I enjoy the emotion, depression and inexplicable mood fluctuation brought by the process of painting. No matter the situation the confusion makes me currently enjoy life. 
Angels busy away to disinfect and eliminate any possibility of death to weep over them. We live together in this grotesque world, and perhaps our soul is also in a beautiful and dreamy secret land like a greenhouse. When it is empty one day, it will return to its real homeland.

作为一个武汉人,非常为之骄傲的,正是像钟南山院士所说的,武汉是一个英雄的城市,她经历过辛亥革命、抗日战争、解放战争的洗礼,出现过无数可歌可泣的英雄人物,是中华民族伟大复兴不可忘记的、值得载入史册的精神力量。
这次的抗击新冠病毒战役,“英雄之城”是武汉人发至内心的骄傲和坚忍不拔的意志的体现。
As a citizen of Wuhan, I am very proud of my city. Just as Academician Zhong Nanshan said,“Wuhan is a heroic city”. She has experienced the baptism of the 1911 Revolution, the Anti-Japanese War and the War of Liberation. She has seen countless heroic figures and is a spiritual force that cannot be forgotten in the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and is worth going down in history. 
This battle against the new corona virus, the "City of Heroes" is the embodiment of the people of Wuhan’s heartfelt pride and perseverance.
