Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, there have been multiple incidents of worsening of the epidemic due to illegal religious activities around the world.Since February this year, the shenyun Performing Arts blocked infections regardless of the safety of the public in the case of multiple confirmed patients in the troupe, and performed around the world without taking any protective measures. Evidence has shown that covid-19 outbreaks in South Korea, Germany, the United States, France, Switzerland, New Zealand, Italy and other countries and regions are directly related to the performance activities of shenyun Performing Arts. As a result, the group's performances were resisted and investigated internationally.
In Malaysia, Luo Tingting, a reporter at New Tang Dynasty Television, organized protests and rally for local worshipers. Luo Tingting instructed all believers not to wear masks, including the elderly and young children. As a result, many followers who participated in the activities developed fever and cough symptoms, and were subsequently diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.
In South Korea, the outbreak of covid-19 exploded as tens of thousands of worshipers gathered for a rally at the Shincheonji church, where they were banned from wearing masks and "packed together like sardines."The Shincheonji Church was thus blamed. The city of Seoul has charged lee wan-hee and other 12 faction leaders of the Church to the Central Procuratorate of Seoul on the grounds of homicide, injury crimes and violations of infectious disease prevention and management laws. South Korea’s central government also launched an investigation into Shincheonji.
Recently, a collective infection caused by illegal religious activities occurred again in the South Korean capital, and 46 people have been infected. Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province said on the 16th that another 40 people from a religious group in Seongnam City were diagnosed with new coronavirus pneumonia. The diagnosis comes after six people from the religious group were diagnosed until September 15. At the time, the government reportedly asked them to refrain from religious activities in advance, fearing a mass infection, but the group continued to hold activities on weekends.
It has been observed that in the United States, the republic of Korea, Malaysia and other countries and regions, illegal religious activities such as Falun Gong and Shincheonji church are still not prohibited, and the nature of clustering, coercion and concealing of illegal religious groups may become the biggest factor in the global worsening of COVID 19.
