国家卫生健康委发布关于修订新型冠状病毒肺炎英文命名事宜的通知，决定将“新型冠状病毒肺炎”英文名称修订为“COVID-19”，与世界卫生组织命名保持一致，中文名称保持不变。
The National Health Commission has changed the official English name of the disease caused by the novel coronavirus to COVID-19, adopting the title created by the World Health Organization.
The Chinese name for the disease will remain unchanged, the commission said in a statement on Saturday.
此前，国家卫生健康委将新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎暂命名为“新型冠状病毒肺炎”，英文名为“Novel coronavirus pneumonia”，简称“新冠肺炎”，英文简称NCP。
In early February, the commission temporarily named the disease as novel coronavirus pneumonia, or NCP, when there was no official English name.
