绿卡申请

绿卡申请分为职业移民亲属移民。职业移民需要先通过PERM的申请;接着对应职业移民和亲属移民的下一步就是I-140或I-130的申请;通过后才是绿卡申请的最后一步I-485申请。

什么是表B,和表A的关系是什么?

表A指绿卡开始接收审批的日期,当表A排期到了以后,申请人的绿卡申请才有可能最后得到批准,一般表A与发放名额相关。表B指可以递交I-485申请的排期,一般进度会比表A快。表B排到后就可以递交I-485申请,虽然无法拿到绿卡,但是可以申请返美证AP(俗称“小绿卡”)、工卡EAD。参见《绿卡递交之后——AP、EAD等

为什么排期会停滞、倒退?

主要原因是移民局现有亟需处理的绿卡申请已经积压了很多(主副申请人均会占名额),导致无法在相应时间处理完,所以通过调整排期来控制递交申请的数量。参见《绿卡排期为什么会倒退?

如何知道自己的排期?

排期可以在I-797表格上找到Priority Date。

如何知道自己的申请状态?

Visa Bulletin是什么?

国务院DOS(Department of State)每个月会提前公布下一月的绿卡排期,即为Visa Bulletin。一般DOS公布的排期类似“政府意愿”。移民局USCIS(United States Citizenship and Immigration Services)会根据实际绿卡申请处理的情况进行“采用(honor)”与否,并在自己的官网发布一份自己认可的排期。参见《数据来源

485库存存量是什么?

485库存存量是指已经提交但是还未获得批准的I-485申请(特指职业移民绿卡申请)共有多少。库存存量越高,意味着移民局积压着越多未处理完毕的I-485申请。
一般情况下,移民局会在每个季度更新一次485库存统计结果(即还积压在移民局Main Office的申请总数),于是我们可以根据库存存量来预测排期的走势。
由于现在职业移民加入了面试环节,I-485申请会被转到移民局Local Office,但统计结果又没有统计在Local Office的申请数量,所以485库存存量相对参考价值不大。
