ZooLights dazzles visitors of all ages each holiday season! Stroll along tree-lined paths lit by thousands of twinkling lights, where you'll see black bears, a bald eagle, Canada lynx, arctic foxes, and even reindeer. Enjoy more festive fun by warming up by the fire pits and toasting marshmallows for s’mores (available for purchase). Children will want to make sure they visit with Santa, who awaits their arrival in Santa’s Castle. Jolly Old St. Nick will be available for photos through December 24. Brick Safari --This year only!

Go on a safari unlike any other! As you explore the paths of Stone Zoo, prepare to spot over 40 life-size animal sculptures made from millions of colorful LEGO® bricks! From the iconic elephant (made from over 270,000 bricks!) to the feisty Tasmanian devil, safari-goers will discover wildlife from all corners of the globe. Visit Santa’s Castle to get an exclusive peek at sculptures only seen at this event, and to meet Santa himself!

Trustees' Winterlights returns and is bigger and better than ever. Join us for magical experiences at three of our beautiful garden properties, Naumkeag in Stockbridge, The Stevens-Coolidge Place in North Andover, and new this year Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate in Canton, as they sparkle with thousands of shimmering and artfully designed holiday lights. Bring the family for scavenger hunts, crafts, seasonal characters and experiences, food and refreshments, and more. Winterlights runs multiple evenings each week starting the weekend before Thanksgiving and running through the end of December.

The Museum’s seasonal tradition continues with All Aboard! Trains at Science Park, our fun-for-all-ages temporary exhibit featuring classic winter landscapes and a hint of nostalgia. Miniature trains, snow-covered peaks, engaging hands-on activities, and even a few surprises await! Experience a whimsical setting where powered model trains at different scales run through various colorful scenes, complete with intricately created décor, buildings, and even people. You can also check out smaller wooden train tables where you can lay your own tracks and engineer layouts—moving trains by hand and around curves.

Expert train model makers are on hand on select days—creating tiny trees, adjusting tracks—so you can ask questions and learn about the art and science behind model making. It’s a great way to welcome the winter season with your friends and family at the Museum of Science!

In 2019, we present the 26th Annual Festival of Trees! A year-long celebration – including several special events – celebrates this important anniversary!

This year’s Festival will once again feature 240 spectacular, shiny, sensational trees, mini-trees and wreaths which you can win. Don’t miss this year’s sparkling event!

Trees will be on display for 3 weeks lighting up the city of Methuen and then raffled off to attendees to enjoy in their own home.
