DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
Come celebrate Día de Los Muertos with Nibble! Chef Estela Calzada will be making delicious tamales, there will be music, face painting, dancing, and an Altar! Everyone is invited to bring pictures or tokens of loved ones to remember them by for the Altar.
Day of the Dead is a multi-day holiday in Mexico where families and friends come together to celebrate their deceased loved ones — and interact with their spirits.
This is a Festival Day so you can bring your food and drinks ANYWHERE in the market!

Shadows Around the World
For thousands of years, man has manipulated puppets for a variety of reasons: ceremony, religion, education, therapy and entertainment. Of the many forms of puppetry, the most magical and cinematic is shadow puppetry. “Shadows Around The World” explores the history of shadow puppetry and its development throughout the world. The program focuses on world cultures and history and the development of Shadow Theater as an art form. Recommended for ages 4 and up.

Dia De Los at copley
In traditional Mexican homes, every November 1 and 2, departed family members are remembered with altars lovingly decorated with photographs, papel picado, offerings of fruit, favorite food and drink, candles, and masses of fragrant orange marigolds, la flor de cempasuchil.
Marigolds, with their bright orange color and scent, are thought to guide the spirits home. The City of Boston’s altar in Copley Square will contain 500 pots of marigolds, grown from seed and tended to since August by Boston Parks Department horticulturalists. You can upload photos of your loved ones to have them displayed at the altar.

Free Drop-In Family Days are a great opportunity for families to be creative together and want to enjoy art in a fun and affordable way.  In this program, families will engage in art making activities designed and taught by our talented art instructors.  The projects will use a variety of art materials, professional artist tools, and mediums, and may incorporate seasonal considerations such as holidays and events throughout the year.  By design, projects should take between 30-45 minutes.
