当地时间24日，据英媒报道，英国警方确认日前在埃塞克斯郡货车内发现的39具尸体都为中国人。目前案件仍在紧张调查中。
The 39 people who were found dead in the back of a refrigerated truck in the English county of Essex on Wednesday were Chinese nationals, UK media has reported.
据英国媒体报道，23日在英国埃塞克斯郡被发现死于冷藏卡车后部车厢的39人都是中国籍。
埃塞克斯郡警方官网声明称：
Of these, 38 are believed to be adults, and one is a young adult woman. We previously reported that she may have been a teenager. We have since confirmed that eight of the deceased are women and 31 are men and all are believed to be Chinese nationals.
所有遗体中，据信38具为成年人，一具为年轻成年女子。此前我们通报称她可能是未成年人。目前确认8名死者为女性，31名为男性，所有遗体据信都为中国籍。
据了解，货车司机来自英国北爱尔兰，今年25岁，目前已因涉嫌谋杀被逮捕。

目前比利时与英国已开始合作进行联合调查。
