要求将莫雷撤职

中国篮球协会和火箭队在中国的赞助商也相继发表声明，宣布暂停或中止与火箭队的相关合作。

但据《环球时报》报道，面对争议和各方谴责的声音，正在日本参加火箭队与猛龙队季前赛的NBA总裁亚当·肖华 (Adam Silver) 向媒体做出了回应。

“NBA总裁亚当·肖华在东京回应涉及中国推特的争议一事。”

他表示，NBA支持莫雷自由表达的权利，但不为其言论内容背书。

毫无疑问，经济上的影响已十分明显。那条推特已经产生了重大后果，我也读到了一些媒体报道，认为我们不支持莫雷，但实际上我们支持他。
我认为作为一家基于价值观的组织，我要明确表示，莫雷发表自由言论的能力得到(我们的)支持。

不过，NBA球队篮网（Brooklyn Nets）的华裔老板蔡崇信（Joe Tsai）也在10月7日公开发表了一篇长文，深刻剖析了中国球迷的心理活动，也对NBA提出了忠告，可以说是啪啪打脸了肖华。

作为NBA30支球队其中一支的老板，也作为一个在中国度过了我职业生涯大部分时光的炎黄子孙，我必须站出来发声。
As a governor of one of the 30 NBA teams, and a Chinese having spent a good part of my professional life in China, I need to speak up.

蔡崇信在公开信中分析了此事的严重性：

火箭队在这之前是中国最受欢迎的球队，但现在可以说被驱逐出了中国市场。球迷不再喜欢这支球队，转播商拒绝播放火箭队的比赛，中国的赞助商也大量取消他们的赞助合作。

The Rockets, who by far had been the favorite team in China, are now effectively shut out of the Chinese market as fans abandon their love for the team, broadcasters refuse to air their games and Chinese corporates pull sponsorships in droves.

他还对NBA提出了忠告：

NBA是一个球迷第一的联盟。当数以亿计的球迷对某个问题愤怒的时候，联盟及与NBA有关的人都必须高度关注。

The NBA is a fan-first league. When hundreds of millions of fans are furious over an issue, the league, and anyone associated with the NBA, will have to pay attention.

中央广播电视总台央视体育频道今天再次发表声明，决定立即暂停NBA赛事转播安排。

据《人民日报》报道，外交部发言人耿爽今天也对央视暂停转播NBA一事做出回应：

中国驻休斯敦总领馆已经就休斯敦火箭俱乐部有关人士的错误言论向对方提出了严正交涉，中国篮球协会以及休斯敦火箭队的中方合作伙伴都相继发表了声明，中方的立场已经非常清楚了，我建议你去关注一下普通中国民众对此事的反应和他们的态度。跟中方开展交流与合作，却不了解中国的民意，这是行不通的。

据中国新闻网报道，众多艺人也表态不会出席9日或10日的NBA中国活动，停止合作。

那么，莫雷之前都说了些什么？一切还得从莫雷的那条推特说起……

莫雷“港独”推特引争议

5日上午，休斯顿火箭俱乐部总经理莫雷在社交媒体上，发布了涉港不当言论，内容正是近几个月香港暴力分子常喊的一句口号：“为自由而战，和香港在一起（Fight for freedom, Stand with Hong Kong）”。

To many basketball fans in China, the city of Houston, Texas, is a special place. It is where Hall of Famer Yao Ming played for eight NBA seasons, his popularity sparking a massive following of the sport in China.

But Daryl Morey, the general manager of Yao's former team, the Houston Rockets, disappointed many last Saturday by tweeting in support of the violent protesters in Hong Kong, who have vandalized subway stations, the airport and shops. Morey posted an image with the message "Fight for Freedom. Stand with Hong Kong".

虽然莫雷很快删除了这条推特，但他的言论已经导致了中国球迷的不满与愤怒。在莫雷发布的其他推文下，大量网友用英文表达自己的态度。

“香港是中国的一部分！”

“作为一个2002年就开始粉火箭队的球迷，在莫雷被解雇前我绝不会再看一场火箭队比赛，我发誓。”

很快，火箭队老板菲尔蒂塔（Tilman Fertitta）5日紧急发布推特划清界限↓↓↓

“听着……@莫雷的言论并不代表 @火箭队。我们来到东京是为了做@NBA的全球推广，我们也不是一个政治性的组织。”

在触雷之后，莫雷于7日再度连发两条推特为此前发布涉港言论辩解，依然没有道歉↓↓↓

“我无意通过自己的推特冒犯火箭队粉丝和我在中国的朋友们。我只是基于某种阐释，对一个复杂事件表达某一种想法。自发布那条推文以来，我获得了很多机会来聆听和思考其他观点。”

“我一直很感谢中国球迷和赞助商提供的大力支持，我希望那些对此感到不安的人知道，冒犯或误解他们不是我的意图。我的推文是我自己的，绝不代表火箭或NBA。”

NBA首席传播官迈克尔·巴斯也于7日发布声明，称对莫雷感到极其失望，他无疑已经严重地伤害了中国球迷的感情，但他在这份声明也并未正式道歉。

The National Basketball Association (NBA) on Sunday made an official response to Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey's improper tweet over China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). The league's Chief Communication Officer Mike Bass said that Morey's post has "deeply offended" the Chinese people and it was "regrettable", but made no apology.

"We recognize that the views expressed by Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey have deeply offended many of our friends and fans in China, which is regrettable. While Daryl has made it clear that his tweet does not represent the Rockets or the NBA, the values of the league support individuals educating themselves and sharing their views on matters important to them. We have great respect for the history and culture of China and hope that sports and the NBA can be used as a unifying force to bridge cultural divides and bring people together," said Bass in the statement, which did not include an official apology.

On Monday, James Harden, Houston's No. 1 player, apologized in public over his team's general manager's remarks. "We apologize. You know, we love China. We love playing there. For both of us individually, we go there once or twice a year. They show us the most important love," said Harden to reporters as Russell Westbrook stood by him.

"We appreciate them as a fan base. We love everything there about them, and we appreciate the support that they give us individually and as (an) organization."

而在莫雷发表涉港不当言论一天后，中华人民共和国驻休斯敦总领事馆发言人6日就火箭队总经理错误涉港言论发表谈话。央视体育频道、浦发银行信用卡中心、李宁公司、腾讯体育等也相继发表官方声明，宣布暂停或终止与火箭队的相关合作。“祖国尊严高于一切，祖国主权不容挑战”。

中国各界纷纷发声

10月6日，中国驻休斯敦总领馆发表谈话，要求火箭队立即纠正错误。

我们对火箭队总经理莫雷日前发表错误涉港言论表示震惊和强烈不满，已经向火箭队提出严正交涉要求该队作出澄清，立即纠正错误，并采取切实措施，消除恶劣影响。”

We are deeply shocked by the erroneous comments on Hong Kong made by Mr. Daryl Morey, general manager of the Houston Rockets. We have lodged representations and expressed strong dissatisfaction with the Houston Rockets, and urged the latter to correct the error and take immediate concrete measures to eliminate the adverse impact.

当前，止暴制乱、恢复秩序是香港社会各界最广泛的共识和最强烈的呼吁，任何一个有良知的人都应支持香港特区政府为维护香港社会稳定做出的努力。

At the moment, ending violence and chaos and restoring order has become the widest common consensus and the strongest appeal of all social sectors in Hong Kong. Anybody with conscience would support the efforts made by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to safeguard Hong Kong's social stability.

中国篮球协会6日迅速做出回应，对此表示强烈反对，将暂停与该俱乐部的交流合作事宜，并随后宣布取消与NBA发展联盟的四场比赛↓↓↓

The Chinese Basketball Association, now chaired by Yao, had a swift response on Sunday, announcing that it has suspended any exchanges and cooperation with the Rockets while expressing its "strong opposition" to Morey's "improper remarks regarding Hong Kong". The Chinese league has also canceled its four preseason games against NBA development league teams, including Rockets affiliate the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, originally scheduled for Oct 19 and 20 in Suzhou, Jiangsu province.

中央广播电视总台央视体育频道也发表声明，决定即日起暂停涉及该俱乐部的赛事转播等一切合作交流事宜。

China Media Group (CMG) on Sunday night expressed opposition to the improper remarks of Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey on the current situation in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and decided to suspend the live-streaming of their games as well as cooperation and communication with the team.

火箭队的赞助商以及合作企业都坐不住了，纷纷发声暂停或中止合作！

浦发银行信用卡中心发表声明，表示强烈抗议及反对，并表示已暂停相关市场活动和宣传，并继续敦促休斯顿火箭队对此事件展开彻查并给予合理回复。

Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Credit Card Center said it "opposes and protests against" Morey's "erroneous" remarks and has suspended all marketing and publicity activities related to the Rockets.

李宁品牌发布声明，称已中止与休斯顿火箭队相关合作，并将持续敦促火箭队针对该事件给予明确答复。

Sports brand Li Ning denounced the post and said it had stopped all forms of cooperation with the Rockets. Meanwhile, Shanghai Jiayin Finance Technology notified the Rockets that all partnerships between the two sides have been halted.

腾讯体育同样发表相关声明称，将暂停火箭队的比赛直播与资讯报道。

Tencent Sports, which signed a five-year, 1.5-billion-U.S.-dollar deal with the NBA in July, announced that all live streaming and news reporting of the Rockets will be suspended. It also gave customers, who bought a subscription to watch the Rockets games online, a chance to opt for another team.

目前，在淘宝搜索“火箭队”“火箭队球衣”“休斯顿火箭”等关键词，均显示“非常抱歉，没有找到相关的宝贝”，相关商品被下架。

对于此事，知名篮球评论员杨毅在微博上如此评论道：

Chinese basketball commentator Yang Yi took to Weibo, China's Twitter equivalent, to express his disapproval.

"I don't think they (Morey and Wojnarowski) are at liberty to make such remarks (on Hong Kong) without acquiring basic understanding of (China's) major social and political issues. Although Morey's remarks were brief, they are a reflection of long-term misunderstanding and distorting of Chinese society and politics," Yang said.

"The organizations they worked for have been benefiting from a peaceful, prosperous Chinese society and free trade for a long time. The Rockets have received funding from way too many Chinese companies in the past 17 years. In the past four years, ESPN enjoyed annual profits of over 10 million U.S. dollars. China needs to make these organizations pay for their actions," he added.

17年来，火箭队从中国获得大量的赞助商，赚得盆满钵满，成为NBA中开拓中国市场非常成功的球队，莫雷本人更是这一合作的受益者之一。我们要正告莫雷们，一方面企图从中国大把捞金，一方面又伤害中国人民感情的两面派做法，是行不通的，注定会付出代价！
