今年的正规本科与研究生申请已告结束，但社区学院、夏校与夏令营的申请仍在进行中。
申请社区学院，手续简单，录取容易，学费低廉，但其前途却与正规本科不相上下。通常是先在社区学院读两年预科，然后再转入正规本科，再读两年即可获得学士学位。由于前两年就读社区学院，学费比正规大学要低得多，所以是省钱的好办法。

1. Creative Writing 创意写作
Come to Creative Writing and learn how to express yourselfwith your words in unique and creative ways. Learn about poetry and creativefiction by reading famous examples of many genres and discussing the works withyour classmates. Then, practice your creative writing skills yourself andcreate a portfolio of poetry and stories, while also reading your classmates’work and providing feedback to help them improve as well.

The American History course is designed as a general surveycourse for high school students. The 12-day course of American history providesstudents with an overview of American History through simulations, plays,activities and games.

Life Skills class covers a variety of essential topics to asuccessful life in America. We will learn about all the different ways to communicate!From non-verbal communication to public speaking, written communication toartwork, we will study the many ways we communicate and practice them all.Communicating effectively in English is important to the future success of eachstudent!

In this class we will explore the real-world uses andpractical applications of mathematics. You will learn about how people use mathin sports, business, engineering, computer science, and many other fields. Wealso will learn about the history of mathematics, studying important mathfigures and their lives. We will create projects, compete in class games, andexplore the beauty and uniqueness of mathematics.

Students will learn and apply physics concepts through avariety of projects. We will learn about impulse and collisions, Newton’s laws,energy transfer, propulsion, and electricity through hands-on activities anddemonstrations.

9. Building Blocks of Engineering 工程基础
Students will be introduced to basic engineering concepts andwork collaboratively in groups to build and modify a variety of structures liketowers, bridges, and roller coasters. The class will also look at challengesand real world scenarios that engineers work with, and how they solve them.

Take a trip through America from coast to coast. Studentswill explore important state histories that contribute to the rich culture ofUnited States. The class will highlight different attractions and parks in keystates. As a final project, students will create a travel brochure of theirfavorite state. At the conclusion of the course, students will present theirstate to the class in an effort to convince others to travel there.

The classwill utilize various exercises, scene studies, monologues, and other tools inthe attempt to increase the technical abilities of the student actor, and willallow students to find their voice as an actor and as a student.

This class explores the changing United States-Chinarelationship throughout history.  Starting at the very beginning of UShistory, this class explores the relationship between the two countries throughits beginnings, World War 2, the Korean and Cold Wars.

13. Current Events 国际时事
The Current Events course is a survey course designed toexamine current events and social issues. The course framework is set up forstudying the political, economic, religious, international and social issues ofthe global culture along with the development and changing nature of Americansociety.

In this class, we will be exploring the ways science caninfluence art and creativity. We will be doing exciting projects which usedifferent materials. We will use our knowledge of science to create beautifulmasterpieces while practicing our English and critical thinking skills!

During this class, we will explore the exciting world ofscience! We will conduct a variety of experiments that will be sure to amazeyou! Building model roller-coasters, erupting volcanoes, and gooey slime arejust a few of the exciting experiments to look forward to!

16. SAT/ACT/TOEFL Test Preparation 考试预备课程
Students will have the opportunity to focus on preparing forimportant American college entrance examinations in this class. Through avariety of interactive lessons, students will be introduced to the content ofthe tests. They will learn important test-taking and preparation strategies. Studentswill also be exposed to the tests through practice problems and questions. Thecourse is ideal for students gearing up for American high schools or Americancolleges and universities.

There’s a sport for every season in the United States. Learnthe most popular sports played throughout the year, beginning with the NationalFootball League (NFL) in fall, followed by the NBA and March Madness, andconcluding with Major League Baseball in the spring and summer. Game on!

Far from being a passive, mindless activity, watching filmallows us to see life from different perspectives. There’s more to gleanbesides the “moral of the story”; we can learn how to appreciate the artistrythat goes into storytelling as well as its ability to not only entertain butalso expand our understanding of human experience.

Students will practice their writing by creating a newspaperover the course of their SEI experience. The class will look at the history andimportance of newspapers, then decide what their SEI newspaper will look like.In addition to writing projects, other activities will include creating comics,conducting interviews, and taking pictures.

5. Drawing 绘画
Students will learn the basic techniques of drawing and howto generate ideas. They will also receive sketchbooks so they can sketchoutside of the club as well. Students will also learn about current artists andtrends in the illustration world.

Students will gather together to listen to, dissect, and singalong with important and famous music that shaped America. In this interactiveclub, we will go beyond merely listening to songs and discussing them, we willalso create. Students will use the inspiration from the songs we listen to inorder to create songs and choreography of their own.

Do you like watching movies and discussing them? Become a film criticand have fun with others as you learn about American film making!

Students will learn and play outdoor sports and games such assoccer, kickball, frisbee, and capture the flag. Doing this they will learnteamwork， build community, and experience common American leisure activities.

Students will learn key elements of photography (shooting andediting) and put them into practice throughout the week. After this club,you’ll think differently the next time you take pictures with friends!
