Risk Management Intern

Risk Management Intern  
Summary of Position:
Our Risk Management Internship is an accelerated opportunity to experience a corporate setting, learn about the insurance industry and be part of our entrepreneurial approach to business. Within their assigned business units, interns will work on meaningful, high-impact projects orassignments in areas such as: underwriting, claims, product research, marketing and/or finance. Interns will also have the opportunity to meet with individuals who work in the other various functions within the group. Our professional, goal-oriented internship program is designed to prepare you for various aspects of risk management. This program consists of intensive hands-on training and focuses on teaching you the skill to be successful in this domain.

If you are looking for an opportunity to gain experiences in Risk Management, this is a great stepping stone and earns you real-world experience!
Responsibilities: 
  • Assess credit, market, liquidity, operational, compliance, strategic and/or reputational risks
  • Implement the risk management-related initiative respect to new regulatory requirements and expectations, strategic planning, M&A assessment and integration activities.
  • Assist with research and data collection in support of insurance claims
  • Assist with reviewing completeness of claim records
  • Assist in creating written and metric based reports and dashboards to highlight key risk issues, trends and potential aspects
  • Work with business areas to perform deep dive review as required, assessing risks in a particular area, providing guidance, and presenting back on risks and proposed mitigating actions
Qualifications: 
  • Currently working on completion of Bachelor's or graduate degree in related field
  • Familiar with the financial sector, services and solutions
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Ability to quickly absorb new technical concepts and tools
