Yida Gao, Divergence Digital Currency Fund(DDC) General Partner
Yida Gao is currently a general partner at Divergence Digital Currency Fund (DDC), a multi-strategy crypto fund. He is also general partner of Struck Capital, a venture capital fund based in Los Angeles and San Francisco that invests in both early stage and pre-IPO stage companies. Formerly, Yida was a technology investor at NEA (New Enterprise Associates), the world’s largest venture capital fund with $25Bn+ AUM and over 200+ IPOs and 350+ acquisitions in its 40 year history. Prior to joining NEA, Yida was a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Investment Banking team at Morgan Stanley in New York City where he helped execute over $15Bn in aggregate deal volume. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Yida held research positions at MIT’s Sloan School of Management under professor Paul Asquith and at McKinsey & Company in Boston. Topics of research, among others, included landscaping the high tech enterprise verticals to identify pockets of likely consolidation and testing IPO theories using reverse mergers. Yida graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science and was a varsity pole vaulter.
