【走进美国——快讯】芝加哥移除50个路口的红灯摄像头 是市长之争的政策手腕?
走进美国编辑报道:芝加哥市长Rahm Emanuel 和芝加哥交通部门在上周日(3月9日)发表新闻发布会: 移除芝加哥25个交通路口共50个红灯摄像头。
Emanuel同时也概述了一项法令说,首次违反交通规则的人可以选择参加网络安全法规学习而免除$100的罚款。该项条例还要求召开社区会议,解决将来的路口红灯摄像头的安装和路口行人倒计时器加速安装等问题。
此次红灯摄像头拆除的路口名单有:

• Central and Madison
• Cicero and Stevenson Expressway
• Cornell and 57th
• Cottage Grove and 95th
• Damen and Blue Island
• Elston and Foster
• Halsted and 63rd
• Halsted and 83rd
• Harlem and Northwest Highway
• Jeffrey and 79th
• Kimball, McCormick and Lincoln
• Narragansett, 55th and Archer
• Osceola and Touhy
• Pulaski and Montrose
• Stony Island and 83rd
• Vincennes and 111th
• Western Ave and 51st
• Western, Armitage and Milwaukee
• Western and Pratt
虽然截止至发稿日,摄像头还没有完全移除,但它们在上周六的凌晨已经停止拍照出罚单。
据市长办公室称,此次红灯摄像头的拆除是基于CDOT的车祸数据决定的。去年,16个路口的32个摄像头已经被拆除。市长Emanuel说“红灯摄像头是为了帮助减少危险的交通事故,帮助警察打击违法犯罪,并不是为了记录违反犯罪行为。因此增强公共信任对此项目的推进至关重要。”
Emanuel提议说他计划移除城市的300多个红灯摄像头。而市长候选人之一Chuy Garcia宣称如果他成为市长,他将移除芝加哥所有的红灯摄像头。Garcia说“市长Emanuel的此次移除计划力度太小,时间太晚。我相信所有的选民看到今天红灯摄像头的移除通告时想到的政治手腕,而不是改变”。
