God promised Abraham a son and, from that son, many descendants, who would bless the whole world.But Abraham and his wife, Sarah, were too old to have children.
上帝应许赐绐亚伯拉罕一个儿子，并且这个儿子会有许多后代，全世界的人都将因他们得福。可是，亚伯拉罕与他的妻子撒拉已经很老了，不能再生孩子了。
Twenty years went by. Still, Abraham trusted God's promise. When he was 100 and Sarah was 90, God reminded them of His promise. Sarah was going to have a baby!20年过去了，亚伯拉罕依然相信上帝的应许。当他100岁，撒拉90岁的时候，上帝再次向他们提到这个应许，说撒拉将要生一个儿子！
When their son was born, Sarah was so joyful that she laughed. "God has brought me laughter!" she said. So they named their son Isaac, which means “he laughs."
当儿子出生的时候，撒拉开心地笑了。她说：“上帝使我欢笑！”于是，他们就绐儿子起名叫以撒，就是“他欢笑”的意思。
When Isaac was a boy, God tested Abraham by telling him to take Isaac to Mount Moriah and kill him as a sacrifice to God. Abraham was confused, but still he trusted God.
当以撒还很小的时候，上帝要试验亚伯拉罕，就吩咐他把以撒带到摩利亚山上杀掉，当做祭物献给上帝。亚伯拉罕心里虽然不明白为什么，但他仍然相信上帝。
Isaac carried the wood, and Abraham held the knife and torch. Together they climbed the mountain. "Where is the lamb for the sacrifice?" asked Isaac. "God will provide it," Abraham replied.
以撒背着木柴，亚伯拉罕拿着刀和火把，二人一起上山。“爸爸，献祭的羊
羔在哪里呢？ ”以撒问。“上帝一定会预备的，”亚伯拉罕回答说。
Abraham arranged the wood on an altar, tied up Isaac, and laid him on the wood. As he raised the knife to kill Isaac, an angel called his name: "Abraham!"
亚伯拉罕在祭坛上摆好木柴，把以撒绑起来，放在木柴上。正当他举起刀要杀以撒的时候，一位天使呼喊道：“亚伯拉罕！”
"Don't hurt the boy!" the angel cried. "God knows you trust His promise. Look, there in the bushes! A ram is caught by its horns! Sacrifice that instead."
“不要伤害这孩子！ ”天使大声喊道。“上帝已经知道你对他的信心了。看那边的树丛！有一只公羊，两角被扣住了，用它来献祭吧。” 
So Abraham sacrificed the ram instead of his son. He called the place "God Will Provide," because God provided the sacrifice.  Just as God had said, His promise came true.
于是，亚伯拉罕用那只公羊献了祭。他绐那个地方起名为“上帝必预备”，因为上帝亲自预备了祭物。正如上帝所说的，他应许的事必然成就。
