Quantitative Risk Management Analyst

Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Equities Division (IED) is seeking an expert quantitative analyst with experience of trading or risk management experience for its Prime Brokerage business, which includes Listed Derivatives and OTC Client Clearing. The candidate’s primary role will be to analyze and monitor the portfolios of hedge funds and institutional clients to assess portfolio risks, electronic execution risk, and determine appropriate collateral levels. The candidate will work closely with sales to analyze/manage prospective and existing clients, as well as work with the quant and IT teams to produce analytics, implement/test new models, and enhance the firm’s risk systems.

The candidate must have a strong math or quantitative background, capable of working with large data sets. The individual will also interact with clients to articulate the firm’s risk management philosophy and negotiate risk related commercial points.

Airbnb-Data Scientist Intern

Key Responsibilities

Analysis:

Deep dive analysis into Airbnb’s vast data to uncover opportunities.

Partner with data scientists and analysts to help “tell the story” behind the data.

Product Strategy:

Partnering with leadership to prioritize areas of opportunity to drive growth/quality.

Evaluate and define product and business metrics.

Product Execution:

Communicate state of the business to stakeholders.

Digest and interpret experiments.

Decision Tools:

Democratize data by building and socializing decision tools (dashboards, reports).

Build key data sets/pipelines to empower operational and exploratory analysis.

Desired Minimum Qualifications

Currently pursuing a PhD, MS or BS in CS, Math, Statistics, Physics, Economics or other quantitative field.

In order to be considered for this internship, you must be graduating from an advanced degree program in Spring/Summer of 2019.

Ability to think and execute at multiple altitudes: from strategy and vision to execution.

Interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and communicate technical content to general audiences, including ability to “story tell” with data.

Ability to write and mentor code development in SQL and Python (or R).

Experience with dashboard design and data viz tools (i.e. Tableau) is a plus

Experience with building data pipelines is a plus

Position Summary

We're committed to teaching you the ropes; and TLP will equip you with the knowledge and training you need to make an impact right away.

The program begins in July with a two-week intensive training that provides essential skills; a
