4月19日中午，“霉霉”泰勒·斯威夫特最新专辑“The Tortured Poets Department”正式上线。

The Tortured Poets Department 官方中文翻译为《苦难诗社》，翻译得特别好，如果按照字面翻译为“被折磨的诗人部门”…而“苦难诗社”言简意赅，极具中文凝练之美。
你可能不清楚新专辑为啥叫“The Tortured Poets Department”（苦难诗社），霉霉这段“发刊词”解释了这个名字的内涵，文笔超美，一起来赏析：
The Tortured Poets Department. 
《苦难诗社》
An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time - one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure. 
译：一张全新专辑，反映了转瞬即逝和听天由命的那些时刻的事件、观点和情感——在同等程度上既耸人听闻又伤心欲绝。
1）anthology表示“文选、诗集”，这里指专辑，是个非常有文学气息的词。an anthology of new works 就是“一张全新专辑”。
2) that reflect events, opinions and sentiments，这是一个 that 引导的定语从句，意为“反映了一些事件、观点和情感”，
3）from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time，这是后置定语修饰“events, opinions and sentiments”，说明这些事件、观点和情感来自“a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time”（转瞬即逝和听天由命的那些时刻），fleeting 和 fatalistic 押头韵，fleeting表示“飞逝的”，fatalistic( /ˌfeɪtəˈlɪstɪk/)表示“听天由命的”、“宿命论的”。
4）one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure，one 是“an anthology”的同位语，指这张专辑，that 引导定语从句，说这张专辑既 sensational（adj.耸人听闻的），又sorrowful（adj.伤心的），in equal measure（以同等程度）。
This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. 

译：作者（我）生命中的这段时期现在已经结束了，这一章已经结束并被封存了。
1）This period of the author’s life is now over 说明专辑描述的那个时期（period）是作者（霉霉）曾经经历的某个时期，但那个时期已经结束（over），现在是在回望。
2）the chapter closed and boarded up，这个 chapter（章节）比喻曾经的那个时期，说那个 chapter 已经 closed（关闭、结束）和 boarded up（用木板封闭的，board 表示“木板”）。
There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed. 
译：伤口愈合后，没有什么可报仇的，也没有可清算的。
1）前面是 there be 句型（存现句），后面是 once 引导的时间状语从句。
2）nothing to avenge（没什么好去报复的），avenge 表示“报复”，“复仇者“叫avengers
3）no scores to settle（没什么旧账去算的），来自短语  settle a score 或 settle an old score（算旧账）
4）once wounds have healed 是once 引导的时间状语从句，表示“一旦伤口愈合”，wounds 原指“枪、刀造成的伤口”，这里比喻“情感创伤”，heal 可以用在主动语态，表示“愈合”。
And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. 
译：反思后才发现，很多当年的创伤只是自作自受。
1）upon further reflection（基于进一步反思），介词 upon 即on（基于），reflection 表示“反思”。

2）a good number of them，首先 a good number of 表示“许多”，them 指代上一句提到的“wounds”（情感创伤）。
3）turned out to be self-inflicted（被证明是自作自受），turn out to be…是句型，表示“结果是”、“原来是”，可以翻译为“被证明是…”，self-inflicted 表示“加于自身的；自伤的”，即“自作自受的”。
This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. 
译：我坚信，我们的眼泪化为一页墨水时，会变得神圣。
1）This writer is of the firm belief 表示这位作者（也就是霉霉自己）有有坚实的信仰，即“坚信某件事情”），“be of +名词”的结构表示“具有某种属性或特点”。
2）belief 后面跟了一个 that 引导的同位语从句，说明这份信仰的内容——our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page，这句写得特别有文学性，完全就是诗句了，因此我们可以翻译得具有诗意：眼泪化成一页墨水，变得神圣。
Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it.
译：一旦我们说出了我们最悲伤的故事，我们就可以摆脱它了。
1）Once we have spoken our saddest story, 又是一个 once 引导的是时间状语从句，表示“一旦我们说出最悲伤的故事”

2）we can be free of it 里面有一个句型：be free of…（摆脱…，不受…的束缚）
And then all that’s left behind is the tortured poetry.
1）all that’s left behind 是主语部分，all（一切）被 that 引导的定语从句修饰，表示“剩下来的一切”
2）the tortured poetry 是表语，表示“饱受折磨的诗歌”。
译：最后留下来的，只是那些饱受折磨的诗歌。
从这段发刊词可见，这张专辑是霉霉对曾经经历的一段痛苦时期的回顾和反思，认为那时的痛苦都是自作自受，当然，现在已经释怀，所以就把当时的痛苦保留在歌词中吧，颇有“轻舟已过万重山”的感觉。
我想，这么多人热爱霉霉，正是因为她身上这种反思精神，敢爱敢恨的性格，和无与伦比的才情。
