O.J. Simpson, the American football star whose 1995 acquittal in the so-called "trial of the century" for the murder of his ex-wife and a male friend gripped the world, has died at the age of 76.

其家人表示，辛普森10日在拉斯维加斯离世。据悉，辛普森此前正在接受化疗治疗前列腺癌。

"On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer," a message signed by the family said Thursday on social media site X. He had reportedly been battling prostate cancer.

据介绍，辛普森曾是美国著名的黑人体育明星。1994年6月，他因涉嫌杀害白人前妻及其朋友被控犯有双重谋杀罪。
