Speaker Bio
Dr. Sofia Lee, EdD is the Assistant Director of Career Services of Samueli School of Engineering at UCLA; working at the intersection of academia and industry to propel more college women getting into high-tech careers in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
Learning & working on both sides of the Pacific Rim has given Dr. Lee a global spirit to straddle the best of both worlds. With those background & professional experiences spanning career coaching, Fortune-500 corporate, and HR management consulting, she brings a distinctive blend of expertise and insight to benefit especially foreign-born professionals & international students.
Throughout her professional life, helping individuals capitalize on their unique strengths and connecting talents to meaningful job opportunities have been Dr. Lee’s unflagging passions. As a career consultant, she has coached hundreds of students and professionals to obtain employment at prestigious global organizations. She has extensive research and expertise on human behavior and performance patterns. She is recognized as an expert in integrating multiple leading-edge talent assessment technology and career coaching methodology to evaluate an individual’s core talent and career-related strength. 
Dr. Lee is a certified executive coach at Columbia Business School, EdD at USC, and MS at U of Illinois. She is a Certified Master Practitioner to administer MBTI, Highlands Ability Battery, Strong Interest Inventory, Keirsey’s Temperament Sorter, CCL-360, and EQ-i

LEAP (Leadership, Excellence, Aspiration, Platform) Career Development Forum is a Los Angeles-based 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to building a trustworthy and sustained platform for professional growth and career advancement of young Asian Americans and those from Asian countries currently studying or working in America in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and related fields. 
Launched in February 2013 as an educational program under CESASC (Chinese-American Engineers and Scientists Association of Southern California), LEAP was incorporated in June 2015 to become an independent organization with the exclusive focus on establishing a resourceful and open platform to advocate outstanding leadership, encourage professional excellence, cultivate great aspiration, and provide job opportunities.
