Job Description

IDC Field Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for the global operational support of our Client's Data Center located at US west coast and east coast. As company, we pride ourselves to deliver excellent and superior customer service.

Job Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility is to monitor a smooth process during shift and standby to resolve issue that may continue arise.
Maintain a secure daily operate network system, including cable switching, power on/off enterprise system and monitor various devices at the same time.
Follow agreed standards of data center operations activities.
Perform routine operational support and system maintenance.
Complete all scheduled reoccurring system reboots.
Record system activities and alter any issues that require certain activities to be escalated.
Provide feedback to management, ensuring process and procedure are met.
Make sure all data center assets are secured and security policy is enforced at all time.
You will also be working closely with all levels of the Support Team and is expected to operate, excel, maintain and monitor operating systems of the data center as we run a 24X7 service.

Job Requirement

Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred. Be able to speak, read and write (or type) both Mandarin Chinese and English at a professional level.
Be able to work off hours and travel is highly preferred.
Basic knowledge of L1-L7 network architecture, TCP/IP, Switching, Routing, and Optical communication technology
Experienced in server Installation, configuration, and trouble shooting
Good at problem solving and troubleshooting skills, quick response to emergency cases.
Knowing power and air flow system will be an asset.
Prior exposure of co-location, data center procedure (hardware racking, network cabling, etc) is a plus.
Extensive knowledge in computer hardware, network protocols and system integration. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Ability to lift heavy loads, up to 50 lbs.
Demonstrate the ability to thrive in cross-cultural work environments.
Accept weekend work shift and business travel.
1 - 2 yrs experience in a data center environment.
