今天是On Writing Well马拉松阅读的第26天，继续精读精析第四章style。如果昨天的还没读，建议看一下，再看今天的：On Writing Well精读第25天 | 且看怀特如何爱“鸡”
【今日导读】在今天精读的这部分，作者先点评了怀特的文章片段：深深被其文笔的简洁美所深深吸引，并再次强调：最喜欢的还是这文章是在讲"1907年时，一个男人和一个家禽的感情故事“(a man telling me unabashedly about a love affair with poultry that goes back to 1907），而不是读者关不关心，喜不喜欢。接下来，作者又选了和怀特简洁文笔截然不同的一位作家报道猴子案的文章片段，再次强调：这位作家也是不管读者口味的，只是忍不住要把自己内心所想喷发出来。
猴子案简介：1925年3月23日美国田纳西州颁布法令，禁止在课堂上讲授“人是从低等动物进化来的”。由美国公民自由联盟唆使的田纳西州的物理教师斯科普斯很快以身试法，制造了轰动整个美国乃至整个世界的历史性事件－－“美国猴子案件（Monkey trial)”。

【深入探究】
（1）
精析：这里的there be句型不能按常规去理解。 此处的there`s a man...是指上文的内容。
（2）
精析：这里brothers的使用正是典型的“小词大用”。这两位作家自然不是brothers，这里的brothers是指他们的相类似之处。
（3）
精析：very不仅能当作副词用，也能当作形容词使用。
另外，all half empty在这里是表语： 其中all,half都是副词，empty是形容词。
再有，choke一词在这里超级形象生动：all weeds choked their yards,即院子里长满了野草。但用choke：填塞; 使窒息，用了拟人手法，顿时形象无比。

精析：这里的tripping down the main street是伴随状语。其中trip在这里有“ 轻快地走”的意思。
（5）
精析：这里用的是强调句型，强调out of such courage。强调句型在写作中出现的频次很高，一定要学会使用。
