Graduate Intern 
Modeling and Manufacturing Processes
Job Description:
The CT Simulation and Digital Twin Technology Field (SDT TF) is seeking a highly motivated PhD student for a 4 month internship to work in the area of modeling and simulation for multi-physics problems arising in manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will work with the Product Design, Modeling and Simulation Research Group to develop software packages based on existing Siemens PLM software. 
The project will include development of software prototypes to demonstrate novel techniques, and documentation of results through high quality technical reports suitable for publications and patent applications. Our Princeton facility is recognized for providing a stimulating environment for highly talented and self-motivated students. You will have the opportunity to test your knowledge in a challenging problem-solving environment. You will be encouraged to think out-of-the-box, innovate and find solutions to real-life problems. Our team has a strong publication record in leading journals and conferences.
Responsibilities：
- Collaborate in developing models for complex multi-physical systems for manufacturing applications;
- Implement reusable, efficient and maintainable software components using main stream programming languages;

Integrate software components with existing libraries and software.
- Incubate innovative concepts and develop publications or patents.


Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience：
- Current student majoring in a PhD program in Applied Mathematics or Engineering;

Solid theoretical knowledge of modeling and simulation techniques, including partial differential equations and numerical methods to compute their approximation ;
- Familiarity with solid mechanics and manufacturing processes, especially 3D printing;

- Hands-on coding skills and ability to quickly prototype in C++ or Python are preferred.

- Familiarity with Siemens NX software suite and NX Nastran in particular is a plus.

Job Description:

Siemens Molecular Imaging has an exceptional opportunity for an Intern in our Hoffman Estates, IL office. The successful candidate will participate in the Innovation Think Tank program for Siemens Healthcare that hosts a number of projects to serve the global Siemens Healthcare businesses.The intern will assist in the preparation of requests for proposals for projects, promote the Innovation Think Tank at regional events, and work directly on one or more projects, together with Innovation Think Tank members in other global locations.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- Completion of at least three years toward a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Industrial Design or related fields
