Using a napkin with grace
此时无声胜有声。
不管你是在快餐店吃饭还是受邀与英国女王共进晚餐，都应该遵守最基本的餐桌礼仪。
Basic napkin etiquette is generally the same regardless of the venue. 有些礼仪可能会根据场合变化，但餐巾的使用方法是一致的。
When should I place my napkin in my lap at a fancy dinner ?
出席宴会时，我应该在什么时候把餐巾铺在腿上呢？
“
In a formal setting, follow the lead of your host. Take your napkin off the table and place it on your lap when your host does.
在正式场合，通常要跟着男女主人做。别在主人还未动手前就急着把餐巾从桌上取下来。
”
在这里有一个需要注意的点

其实很多人都做错了
Can we tuck the napkin in the neckline of our clothes?
餐巾可以系在衣服领口吗？
Never！Never！Never！
重要的事情说三遍！

You can't tuck it into your shirt or into your pants.

千万别把餐巾卷进衬衣领或是别进腰间。
”
把餐巾塞进衣服领子虽然可以防止食物掉落不小心弄脏衣服，但会影响你帅气英俊美丽动人的外表。

What should I do when unfolding it?
有时候餐巾被叠成漂亮的造型摆在餐盘上，打开它时要注意点什么呢？
“
Maintain an air of elegance by subtly unfolding your napkin. Never shake or snap open your napkin. 
优雅、轻柔地打开餐巾，千万别粗暴地抖开它。
”
“
Unfolding the napkin should be done below surface level of the table.
记住动作要在桌子下面进行，别让大家看见。
”
“
When using a napkin, blot your mouth and don't wipe your lips.
使用餐巾时，应该是轻轻点擦嘴边的污渍，别拿餐巾用力抹嘴唇。
”
和刀叉一样
餐巾的摆放也可以向侍者传递信息
表示暂时离开
Place your napkin on the chair rather than on the table and the server will know that you will come back and resume eating.
比如你不得不中途离开座位时，可以把餐巾放在座位上，这就表示你只是暂离，还会回来继续用餐。
表示用餐完毕
When you place the napkin to the left of the place setting, your server will know that you are finished and that it's time to remove your dish.
当你把餐巾放在餐具的左侧时，就表示你吃完了，侍者可以收走你的餐具。
其实napkin要注意的事情并不难
只要学好这一课
