Responsibilities:

Bloomberg is seeking an analyst in our New York newsroom to research and analyze data for rankings and infographics that appear on Bloomberg's terminal, web, and media platforms. This analyst will work closely with other analysts, reporters, writers, editors, designers, and coders to create lists and rankings, data-driven visual stories, interactive maps, and static graphics on a wide variety of subjects.
Analysts participate in all aspects of the graphic-creation process: pitching ideas, collecting, analyzing, and verifying data from outside sources and Bloomberg terminal functions, and collaborating with designers to turn data into visualizations.

Qualifications:

Proficiency with the Bloomberg terminal is required. Promising applicants will have strong research and mathematical skills, sound editorial judgment, knowledge of finance and business, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Collaboration is a hallmark of the team. All members are expected to seek the input of colleagues and view constructive criticism as a way to improve their work. Time-management skills are critical. Our team works in a newsroom and under deadline. Promising candidates will be comfortable responding quickly to breaking news and working on longer-term assignments. Whatever the project, a passion for journalism and data is essential.
